Ravan movie is written and directed by Mani Ratnam. This movie is a present day edition of the Indian epic Ramayana which tells the story of Rama, whose wife Sita is kidnapped by the king of Lanka, Ravana. Previously, the film Thalapathi was directed by Mani Ratnam which bore close resemblance to the Mahabharata. Some sources from the shooting set have deprived of the movie being based on Ramayana as said by The Hindu. The movie will be released on 18th June in cinemas.
